We will keep fighting for all libraries - stand with us!
Warning! There may be language used in this Slaughter Film podcast that is not suitable for all listeners. This week the Horror Duo discuss a pair of interesting pre-code films that both fall into the horror "old dark house" sub-genre. Forest shares his thoughts on James Whale's The Old Dark House - from which the sub-genre's name is derived. Cory covers The Bat Whispers, which is an early talkie re-make with an interesting widescreen history. The discussion of these films also branches off into a one about the pre-code era, and what filmmakers could and couldn't get away with once the Hays Code was instituted. They also chat about the sleazy business of Harvey Weinstein, the devil that is "motion smoothing", and Cory asks the important question; "are 3D blu-rays still a thing?". All this and Forest sets a new record for most times "whatever like that" is said in one podcast...*sigh*
